Whether you are opening a boutique in Geneva, offices in Lausanne or a retail outlet in Zurich, the key stages remain broadly the same \u2014 although the pitfalls to avoid vary from one region to another. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: the planning phase \u2014 often the most underestimated<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most budget overruns on fit-out projects stem from insufficient initial planning. Before any quotation is issued, a competent contractor should provide: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A precise technical survey of the existing premises<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An analysis of structural constraints (load-bearing elements, building services, ceiling heights)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Verification of applicable local regulations (permits, fire safety standards, accessibility requirements)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In both <strong>Geneva <\/strong>and <strong>Lausanne<\/strong>, planning approval for interior fit-outs can take between 2 and 4 months depending on the complexity of the project.
